Let me start by saying that, as the article suggests, not all removal wraps are equal. I have tried many different types of wraps and I tried them all with pure acetone:

Cheap wraps from ebay: Didn't hold their shape, fell off clients fingers with the slightest movement.

Hair foil squares with cosmetic pads: Worked well but needed cutting up prior to appointments and were fiddly to apply.

ASP soak off caps (see previous review): Worked well but eventually became brittle and perished through exposure to acetone.

Organail removal 'envelopes': worked okay but were but were not tight enough so not enough contact with the nail plate.

So how were the Magis nail wraps?

I tested the Magis nail wraps on a colour that is notoriously difficult to remove. It's the sort of colour that makes me groan when a client comes back in for a removal and new set. The gel polish I removed had been on my clients nails for 3 weeks. The quality of the Magis wraps was obvious when I opened the box. The pads on them were really thick and absorbent, holding a good amount of acetone inside during removal. The foils themselves are also a very good quality and stay put where you crunch and fold them. A nice, tight fit around the nail meant that the whole pad was in contact with the nail plate and that the acetone didn't evaporate while we waited for the gel to soften.

After 10 minutes even this stubborn colour had softened nicely and was easily removed from the nail!

When it comes to nail services time=money so a removal wrap which works quickly is essential.

In my mind I would rather spend a little more on a quality removal wrap that buy cheap and soak nails for twice the time (as this is not good for the nails or a clients patience!)
